The Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) is the third oldest university in Greece. Since 1920, it has consistently contributed to the development of the Greek and European primary sector through education and basic and applied research in agricultural sciences. AUA conducts approximately one third of the agricultural research carried out in Greece. Its goal is the creation of new knowledge and the utilization of existing knowledge across all areas of agri-food, environmental ecology, and agricultural economics, aiming to contribute to sustainable development and address contemporary challenges.

The Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer Office “InnovinAgri” of the Agricultural University of Athens aims to support the exploitation of AUA’s research results, strengthen collaboration between the University, industry, and other stakeholders, and develop skills and competencies in innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer for students, researchers, and staff.

Since 2021, “InnovinAgri” has supported the establishment of eight spin-off companies in key sectors for the country, such as smart and digital agriculture, circular bioeconomy, energy efficiency, and biotechnology. At the same time, it supports the submission of intellectual property protection applications in Greece, the European Union, and internationally.

“InnovinAgri” operates as the research exploitation body of AUA, supporting the maturation and commercial exploitation of research results, as well as results derived from funded projects, through the development of agreements with industry and small and medium-sized enterprises (Material Transfer Agreements, Licensing Agreements, and Joint Research and Development Agreements).

Panteion University is the only purely single-discipline University of Social and Political Sciences in Greece, holding a central role in the academic and social life of the country. It operates as a hub for the production and dissemination of new knowledge through its continuous and active contribution to the study of contemporary social, political, economic, and cultural phenomena, as well as to addressing social challenges at both national and international levels.

Within this framework, the Technology Transfer Office of Panteion University aims to ensure that the knowledge produced is transformed into innovative applications, collaborations, and development initiatives with measurable social and economic impact. Its primary objective is the systematic exploitation of the Institution’s research outcomes, the strengthening of collaboration with businesses and organizations, and the provision of specialized support to researchers on issues related to the establishment of spin-offs and the management of intellectual property. At the same time, it fosters a culture of innovation within the academic community, encouraging extroversion and the creation of sustainable partnerships.

Its philosophy is reflected in the codename Point Π — the “Zero Point” for every new idea at Panteion. The letter Π refers both to the name of the University and to the mathematical constant pi, a symbol of continuity, stability, and constant evolution.

The Office was established within the framework of collaboration among four universities — the Agricultural University of Athens, Panteion University, the University of Piraeus, and the University of Thessaly — with the aim of disseminating knowledge and sharing expertise within an expanded innovation ecosystem.
