01.04.2026

The ROMVOS Network had a strong presence at the 31st AGROTICA Exhibition, held in Thessaloniki from 12 to 15 March. AGROTICA is the largest agricultural exhibition in Southeastern Europe and one of the most important meeting points for the agri-food sector, innovation and technology transfer.

The ROMVOS Network’s participation in AGROTICA provided an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation among universities, businesses and productive-sector organisations, with the aim of leveraging research knowledge and developing innovative solutions for the primary sector.

Representatives of the Agricultural University of Athens and, more specifically, its Technology Transfer Office attended the exhibition on behalf of the ROMVOS Network. These included Thomas Bartzanas, Vice-Rector for Research, Finance and Development at the Agricultural University of Athens; Katerina Papadouli, Head of the Technology Transfer Office; and Technology Transfer Office staff members Artemis Rigou and Stella Karydogianni.

The presence of the Network’s team facilitated direct communication with businesses, producers and organisations within the agri-food ecosystem, promoting stronger links between university research and the market.

Strengthening Innovation

During the exhibition, meetings were held with businesses and organisations from the agri-food sector, while the activities of the ROMVOS Network and the opportunities for cooperation with its participating universities were presented.

Participation in AGROTICA confirms the role of the ROMVOS Network as a bridge between:

  • University research
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Agricultural production
  • Innovation and technological development

The ROMVOS Network continues to strengthen cooperation between the academic community and the productive sector, contributing to the development of a modern, sustainable and competitive agri-food ecosystem.
